Cellular Phone Safe in the Shirt Pocket

Dr Devasia Tom and group from Kasturba Hospital, Manipal studied 100 healthy volunteers with normal baseline echocardiogram with a supine 12 lead ECG under three different conditions using the same mobile phone: no cellular phone (baseline), cellular phone in patient’s shirt pocket, but not ringing and a ringing cellular phone in patient’s shirt pocket. Heart rate, RR interval, PR interval, QRS duration, QT interval, QTc Interval and QT dispersion were measured.
