Quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination may not be associated with a greater risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE)

Quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination may not be associated with a greater risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), reported a study conducted in Danish females. In a self–controlled case series, the rate of VTE was 0.126 per person–year in the 42 days after receipt of a vaccine dose compared with 0.159 per person–year during control periods. The findings are published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
