AHA update: New-onset AF in sepsis

New onset atrial fibrillation in patients with severe sepsis is associated with a significant increase in in-hospital stroke and death compared with both sepsis patients who don’t develop AF and those with preexisting AF said Dr Allan Walkey of Boston University School of Medicine, MA. Their report is also published online November 13, 2011 in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
